A Predictive Model of Subjective Quality Life of Clinical Nurses

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the direct or indirect effect of valuables that could explain the subjective quality of life of clinical nurses and to suggest a proedictive model.
Method: Data was collected through the self-reporting questionnaires from 437 clinical nurses working in the general hospitals located in D city.
Result: The result showed that family income level, support of boss and co-workers, work stress, self-esteem, and job satisfaction were found to have significant direct effect on subjective quality of life. Indirect factors were age, shift work, and health status. The modified model was concise and extensive in predicting subjective quality of life of the participants. The final modified model yielded GFI=.99, AGFI=.96, RMR=.04, NF.98, TLI=.97, and CFI=.99 and exhibited good fit indices.
Conclusion: These findings of this study may contribute to development of a program for better understanding and further improvement of the subjective quality of life of clinical nurses.
